Joél Vincent   Email

joel cherylSenior Pastor since November of 1998. He leads a turnaround church in the 21st Century. He was born in Honolulu, Hawai‘i where his parents began the first church in the Assemblies of God in Hawai‘i, as the first appointed missionaries. He grew up in a multi-cultural church. He has a passion for people to come to Jesus, be followers of Jesus equipped with a knowledge of their gifts and become a vital part of ministry in the community through the local church.

He is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. He graduated from Redlands High School, Crafton Hills College (AA), and the University of Redlands (BA), locally. His ministerial training includes a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma (3 ½ years), and a Doctorate (Phd) in Judaic Studies from California Graduate School of Theology now in Westminster, CA (2 years). He has one course in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and further training with the International Alliance of Chaplain Corps to become certified as a chaplain.

He is on the board of several ministries: His Loving Touch (HLT), Health, Education, and Life for all Peoples (HELP), LoveLight Ministries, and His Hope Unlimited. He is a part of the Yucaipa Valley Ministerial Association which began and supports Interfaith Community Support (ICS), a food ministry for the Yucaipa Valley residents, and is part of the volunteer pastoral staff of The Blessing Center in Redlands (which includes Joseph’s Storehouse, job training, and a homeless shelter).

Joél is married to the love of his life, Cheryl Vincent.


Cheryl Vincent

Co-pastor with Joél. Cheryl is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. She is leading the Worship Team of the English congregation as well as the Women’s Ministries for the church and San Bernardino Section of the Southern California District Council of the Assemblies of God.

She was born in the Dominican Republic to missionary parents, Robert and Arleta Turnbull. She grew up from age eight in Haiti, where her parents began the Assemblies of God Mission. She has also grown up cross culturally and loves teaching, music, missions, visitation, and ministry to women.

Cheryl graduated from the American School in Haiti and spent the first two years of college at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, California. She finished her BA at Evangel University in Springfield, MO in elementary education. She completed an MS in Counseling with an emphasis in Career Guidance at California State University at Fullerton in California. Her teaching credential allows her to teach from preschool to adult. Before coming to Yucaipa, she worked for Vanguard University, CA, North Central University, MN, and Regent University, VA.


Marie Jackson

marieMarie Jackson is an evangelist at large and leads the church evangelism team, helps with convalescent home ministry, visitation, church fellowships, and ministers the Word.

Marie is an ordained minister in the Assemblies of God. She graduated from Latin American Bible Institute in La Puente, California in Biblical Studies (3 years) and from Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, California with a BA in Christian Education (2 years). She also holds a certificate in Early Childhood Education.
